The Shrikhand Mahadev trek (5,227 meters/17,150 ft) is a challenging pilgrim trail named after Lord Shiva. It offers stunning views of the Kullu, Jorkandan, and Rangrik ranges of Kinnaur from the Parvati valley.
The trek is commonly approached via the Nirmand – Jaon village route. Starting from Shimla, the journey takes you across the Satluj river into Kullu district. The trek can be completed in 5–6 days, including 3 days of trekking.

This trek takes you through the stunning wilderness of Kinnaur, near the Indo-Tibetan border, and showcases breathtaking views of meadows, apple orchards, and glaciers. It begins in Thangi village, passes through Charang Village and the 17,200-foot Charang La, and concludes in Manali, offering a unique blend of Hindu and Buddhist cultures. Note that foreign nationals require prior authorization from tourism authorities due to the area’s sensitivity.
Manimahesh Trek
The Mani Mahesh trek is one of the most beautiful treks in Himachal Pradesh and holds great religious significance for Hindus. The Manimahesh Lake Trek, also referred to as Dal Lake or Manimahesh, features a high-altitude lake at an elevation of 4,080 meters (13,390 ft), located near the Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, within the Bharmour subdivision of Chamba district.
This lake is considered second only to Lake Manasarovar in Tibet in terms of its religious importance. It serves as the destination for a revered pilgrimage trek known as the ‘Manimahesh Yatra,’ which takes place in August or September, corresponding to the month of Bhadon in the Hindu calendar, on the eighth day of the New Moon. The Government of Himachal Pradesh has officially recognized this trek as a state-level pilgrimage.

Adi Kailash, also known as Chota Kailash or Little Kailash, is a sacred mountain located in Dharchula, Uttarakhand, India. Its significance in Hinduism stems from the belief that it is the earthly abode of Lord Shiva.
