Kailash Yatra 2024 By Helicopter From Kathmandu

Trip to Temple offers a luxury Kailash Mansarovar Yatra package by helicopter. Start from Kathmandu and fly via Nepalgunj to Simikot, continuing by helicopter to Hilsa at the Nepal-Tibet border. Stay an extra night in Purang for acclimatization before driving to Mansarovar Lake. Complete the 105 km Parikrama by bus, take a dip, and perform puja at the sacred lake. Afterward, proceed to Darchen, the base for the Kailash Parikrama.

YOUR ITINERARY (DAY WISE)

Day 1

Kathmandu Arrival

Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to the hotel. En route, visit Pashupatinath Temple and other holy sites. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel such as Hotel Shankar or Hotel Royal Singi.

Kathmandu to Nepalgunj

After breakfast, we’ll head to the airport for a flight to Nepalgunj. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. In the evening, our representative will brief you on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Overnight stay at Hotel Siddhartha or Hotel Cygnett in Nepalgunj.

Nepalgunj -Simikot- Hilsa – Purang

Early morning, drive to Nepalgunj airport for a 40–50 minute flight to Simikot. After resting in Simikot, take a 10–20 minute helicopter ride to Hilsa. Wait for the group, then drive to Purang. Overnight stay at Hotel Purang, Hotel Himalaya, or similar.

Acclimatization at Purang

Spend the day acclimatizing in Purang, with an optional small trek to prepare for the Kailash Mansarovar Parikrama. Purang is a clean town with shops offering trekking gear and essentials for the Yatra. Don’t forget to bargain! Overnight stay at Hotel Purang, Hotel Himalaya, or similar.

Purang to Mansarovar Lake

Travel to Mansarovar Lake by AC Volvo bus (2 hours), then begin the Parikrama. Take a dip and perform puja at the holy lake, completing the 105 km Parikrama in 2-3 hours. Catch the first glimpse of Mount Kailash next to the lake. Overnight stay at a guest house near Mansarovar. If weather permits, visit the lake at night or early morning (Brahm Muhurt) to experience its divine beauty.

Mansarovar to Darchen

After a short drive from Lake Mansarovar, arrive in Darchen, the base for Kailash Parikrama and Ashtapad Darshan.
Note: Ashtapad visit depends on permission from Chinese authorities. Overnight stay at Hotel Himalaya or similar.

First Day Parikrama of Mount Kailash

Start early and drive to Yamdwar to begin the 10 km trek to Dirapuk, marking the first day of Kailash Parikrama with a blessed view of the North Face of Mount Kailash.
Note: Parikrama is optional. Those not participating will travel back to Darchen, where they can stay for 2 nights, enjoy views of Mount Kailash, and perform puja. Meals and accommodations will be provided, and they will rejoin the group after the third day of Parikrama.

Second Day Parikrama of Mount Kailash

Begin the 22 km trek from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass (18,600 ft) and then to Zuthulpuk. The first 6-7 km up to Dolma La Pass is the most challenging, with a steep climb. Take your time and rest when needed. After reaching the pass, descend to Gauri Kund, followed by a more comfortable 16 km trek along the river to Zuthulpuk. You’ll pass through sacred sites like Shivasthal and enjoy views of the east face of Mount Kailash.
Overnight stay: lodge or guest house.

Drive to Purang

The final stretch of the Kailash Parikrama is an 8 km trek, taking around 3 hours to complete. Usually, the parikrama finishes by 9:00–10:00 a.m. Afterward, we drive to Darchen, reunite with other group members, and continue to Dongba.
Overnight stay: hotel (Xixa Panama, Mu being Chung, or similar).

Hilsa – Nepalgunj – Kathmandu

Drive to Hilsa in an AC luxury vehicle, then take a helicopter flight back to Simikot, followed by flights to Nepalgunj and Kathmandu.
Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel (Hotel Shankar, Hotel Royal Singi, or similar).

Departure from Kathmandu

Afterward, proceed to your home destination with the blessings of Lord Shiva!
